Are my metal outlet receptacle boxes grounded?

you are actually getting the reading from the neutral becauce the recp is screwed to box.It wouldnt hurt to put a 9ft rod in the ground and run the extra gnd for extra safety.I have done it in past.Do not connect to water pipes as is very dangerous when doing plumbing work.I see it's a rental.You can get into legal problems without owner's permission
