Wifi on computer wont work?

The internet connection on my laptop wont work. It hasnt for about a week now. Everything else like my ipod touch and our desktop computer is working fine. This happend before but my step dad doesnt know what he did to fix it. Can you please tell me how to fix it? Thanks (:
