Equity is the means; equality is the result? ?

I do not believe it at all. The Chinese Americans didn't need 'Gender Equity', Blacks certainly do not have any 'Gender Equity' after all they've gone through. Why not just declare the genders as equal then adjust any problems which may arise? Are you saying that *some people here don't think even equality in itself is "fair" enough?
